QEW is the first and the longest road-running race in Qatar. The 90km race spans Qatar from Sheraton Park on the Eastern coast to Dukhan Beach on the Western coast of Qatar. The first edition of the race was in Dec 2017 and it has been constantly and steadily growing since then reaching a total of 748 runners in 2022.
The ‘Catch The Dream’ project aims to work in partnership with rural communities in West Africa to develop sustainable agricultural practices, enabling the local people to become self-sufficient. The project also helps people to identify and develop their skills, empowering them to pursue and establish their livelihoods for the future. The ‘Catch The Dream’ is a not-for-profit organisation that was established in May 2017 to support the recovery of Lungi Village in Sierra Leone. The village was devastated by the Ebola crisis of 2014-2016, with many people facing quarantine and the loss of their farming livelihoods during that period.
The money raised from both runs will allow the project to complete further work and the continued plan to develop the village of Lungi. The funds generated from these races will go directly to these areas. 100% of the money raised will be going to the ‘Catch The Dream’ project.
Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to find out more information about ‘Catch The Dream’ then go to: https://www.catch-the-dream.co.uk
